The core idea
Buyers do not read your website before they buy. They ask an AI. The AI either has a clear, confident answer about who you are and why you would be the right choice — or it hedges, generalizes, or names a competitor.
Most of the visibility failures we investigate trace back to the same root cause: the AI literally cannot answer the basic questions a buyer would ask about the business. Not because the information is missing from the internet, but because it isn't reachable (how clearly AI bots can read your site) or corroborated (how the wider web supports your brand).
The seven-question diagnostic
Open ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. Ask each of these about your own business. Note where the answers are wrong, generic, or missing entirely.
1. What do you do?
The most basic question. If the AI struggles to summarize your core service in one clean sentence, entity clarity is broken. The site probably says different things on different pages, and third-party sources probably say something different again.
2. Who do you serve?
If the AI answers "small businesses" when your actual audience is mid-market SaaS founders, buyers get filtered out before you ever hear about them. The AI is answering with what it can extract, not what is true.
3. Why should someone trust you?
Watch what the AI reaches for. If it lists generic marketing claims from your homepage, you have a corroboration problem — nothing outside your own domain backs up the story. If it cites a real third party, credential, or client, that is CommunityIQ working.
4. What makes you different?
This is where most businesses fail hardest. If the AI cannot name a specific differentiator, it defaults to "there are many providers in this space," which is the AI's version of a no-recommendation. Founder-led expertise is usually the missing input; see turn one founder conversation into AI-ready content.
5. Where are you located?
For any business with a geographic component, location clarity is table stakes. Wrong city, missing service area, or ambiguous headquarters means you lose every local recommendation query — and those are usually the highest-intent ones.
6. What proof exists outside your own website?
Directly ask: "What third-party sources talk about this company?" If the AI cannot name any, or if it only cites your own domain, CommunityIQ is at zero. The site is a claim with no evidence.
7. Can AI find your pricing, FAQs, service pages, and case studies?
Ask the AI specifically: "What does this company charge?" "What are their most common client questions?" "Show me one of their case studies." If the AI can't retrieve any of it, the pages either don't exist, aren't reachable to AI crawlers, or aren't rendering by the time the crawler leaves. This is a pure BotIQ signal.
What the wrong answers actually tell you
- Wrong or generic descriptions → entity confusion. Fix: reconcile the story across site, schema, and top third-party profiles.
- "I don't have specific information" → BotIQ failure. The AI couldn't reach or render the page that would answer.
- Only your own site cited → CommunityIQ failure. No independent source corroborates.
- Competitor named instead of you → they have solved the seven questions and you haven't.
- Different AIs giving different answers → the web itself is telling conflicting stories about you.
How founder interviews change the answers
Once the founder's specific expertise is captured — the methodology, the perspective, the lessons only operators know — the AI has something concrete to reach for on questions 3, 4, and 6. That is what the Agentic Podcast System is designed to produce: structured founder-led source material that feeds Learn pages, FAQs, articles, and third-party citations at once.
